How long do cleanings typically take?
Cleaning and repair times vary depending on the type of rug and service required. Cleanings can typically be completed within 1-2 weeks depending on size and condition. Repair services can typically be completed in a similar timeline, but some projects may demand more attention. For exact estimates, feel free to call us any time!
How often should I have my rug cleaned?
Handmade rugs are designed to last a lifetime, so they are bound tightly during construction. The tighter weaving of handmade rugs prevents the natural expulsion of dirt, causing it to collect and build over time. As a result, handmade rugs often give the false impression of cleanliness, however, they can harbor dirt, bugs, and much more deep below the surface. To ensure the longevity of these vintage products, we recommend bringing rugs in for cleaning every two to three years. Machine rugs should also be cleaned by-annually for proper maintenance.

Restoration Rugs employs a team of professional cleaners who are trained in a wide variety of rug types and services. We service both handmade and machine rugs for cleaning, proofing, and deodorizing. In addition to cleaning services, we offer binding, reweaving, recoloring, and other repair services to fix damage of any kind.
